The six-member girl group KATSEYE is reflecting on their first Grammy nominations, an achievement that feels surreal and incredibly honored.
The group, comprising Daniela, Lara, Manon, Megan, Sophia, and Yoonchae, has been recognized with two nominations: Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their single, "Gabriela."
In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, the group expressed their gratitude and excitement, saying, "What an absolute honor it is to be nominated for our first-ever Grammy Award(s). We grew up watching and dreaming about moments like this, and seeing it become real feels surreal."

KATSEYE's journey to the Grammys has been a whirlwind. The group gained early recognition through the Netflix documentary "Popstar Academy," which showcased their transformation from pop hopefuls to global stars. They were formed through the YouTube-based competition series "Dream Academy," a collaboration between K-pop giant Hybe and Geffen Records.
However, it was their viral single, "Gnarly," that catapulted them into the mainstream. The group's energetic and visually captivating performances on social media platforms led to widespread attention, and their follow-up single, "Gabriela," further solidified their success. "Gabriela" not only earned them their second nomination but also marked their first entries on the Billboard Hot 100, where it has spent 11 weeks and is still climbing, currently sitting at No. 37.
KATSEYE's nominations are a testament to their hard work and talent, and they join a prestigious list of artists, including Olivia Dean, The Marías, Addison Rae, Sombr, Leon Thomas, Alex Warren, and Lola Young, in the Best New Artist category.
